No network access
The Android app does not have Android's Internet permission, so it cannot send or receive any data. Everything it needs is bundled inside the app:
- the curriculum (3,833 words), the meanings in 8 languages and the example verses with their translations;
- the Qur'an fonts and sound effects.
Links in the About screen (for example GitHub or YouTube) open in your browser or the relevant app, and only when you tap them.
What stays on your device
- Learning progress: points, level, streak, lessons, exams, answers and review schedule, kept in a local database.
- Settings: language, theme, Qur'an font, text size, sounds, daily goal and reminder time.
Uninstalling the app deletes this data.
Notifications
If you turn on the streak reminder, the app shows a local notification on your device. The app creates it itself, and nothing is sent over a network.
Backup
Settings → Backup can export your progress to a file you choose, and import it again. The file is created only when you ask for it, and you control where it is stored.
The website
The web version keeps your progress, bookmarks and settings in your own browser's storage. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts, and it works offline after the first visit.
The site is served by GitHub Pages and Vercel. Like any web host, they may process standard technical request data, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages. We do not receive, access or use that data.
No third parties
There are no accounts and no sharing. No data is sold, shared or transferred to anyone.
Children's privacy
QuranicWords does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
